STJ Boys Top Five In State TAPPS Poll

Flyers 20-0 For The Season

A local high school basketball team, staying in the top five in the state.

The St. Joe boys, staying at number five in the Texas Association Of Basketball Coaches TAPPS 5A state poll. The Flyers, now up to 20-0 on the season after their latest win last Friday. The St. Joe boys won in San Antonio at KIPP Academy, 73-56. D’Ary Patton led the Flyers with 15 points. I talked with him and Quincy Johnson about being in the state’s top five.

Said Patton, “It feels amazing. I’ve never been ranked this high for my high school. We worked pretty hard for this. We wanted it.”

Said Johnson, “It’s a big deal for me and our team. We work very hard to get where we are. I’ve never been ranked that high in high school yet.”

St. Joe boys basketball next hosts the third ranked team in state TAPPS 6A, Antonian, Tuesday night.
