Flyers win a pair of games on Friday

Victoria, TEXAS — St. Joe basketball was perfect in Friday’s home doubleheader.

The Flyers and Lady Flyers both defeated Incarnate Word Academy at home on Friday, in what was the Lady Flyers’ district opener for 2020. In the early game, the Lady Flyers won 50-47 — staving off a furious Lady Angels rally in the fourth quarter — to improve to 19-5 on the season. St. Joe got a game-high 14 points from Jozelyn Washington in the win, while Taylor Foeh added 13.

The Flyers would take the court afterwards, winning 68-31 behind 26 points from KeAon Griffin. J’Den Miller had 16 points for St. Joe, and Quincy Johnson chipped in 15.

The Flyers and Lady Flyers continue district play Tuesday night at Laredo St. Augustine.
