State representative asks to exempt Texas public schools of STAAR test

Trent Ashby wants to empower teachers and students without worry of high-stakes testing

VICTORIA, Texas – In a Facebook post, state representative Trent Ashby wrote a letter to Governor Abbott to exempt Texas public schools from the STAAR test requirements for the 2020-2021 school year.

Now more than ever we must empower our teachers and students to focus on instruction, development, and growth without the burden of high-stakes testing, said Ashby.
