Lady Flyers In Regional Playoff Thursday

St. Joe girls soccer, still alive in the TAPPS Division Two playoffs.

The Lady Flyers, making the third round of the playoffs after beating Holy Cross, 5-2, last Friday afternoon in Corpus Christi. Two goals apiece for Lauren Estraca and Brittany Olivares, and Vivian Walliser scores a Lady Flyer goal. Jillian Robles with 15 saves. I talked with two Lady Flyers before their next playoff.

Said Olivares, “It’s amazing. It’s making history. I don’t know the last time we have done this. It’s awesome as a team we can go forward and achieve such a great goal.”

Said center back Emily Llanes, “It’s very exciting. This is the first year we’ve done it since my freshman year. That definitely adds a lot more to the excitement.”

St. Joe girls soccer’s third round playoff, set for Thursday night.

The Lady Flyers face Emily Weiner Academy in the regional at 6:00 at Rice Consolidated high school.
