VICTORIA, Texas - Victoria College volleyball's foray into NJCAA competition has gone as well as expected.
Sitting at 2-2 on the young season, VC will look to creep above the .500 mark on Wednesday when they host perennial powerhouse Blinn College at the Sports Center at 6 pm. Despite the tough task that lays ahead, confidence was high at Tuesday's practice.
"We're playing together really well, we're working together as a unit," said freshman middle blocker Brooke Oney.
Her assessment was echoed by returning players on the Pirates.
"It's a big group of freshmen," added sophomore outside hitter Itzy Zapata. "But we're just communicating really well and the bond with the team is really awesome."
The game against Blinn will be the Pirates' second at home this season, following an opening game win against Wharton.
