UHV Men's Soccer Off To Fast Start

Victoria, Texas -
UHV men's soccer, off to a great start to the regular season.
The Jaguars opened the season with a 4-0 home win over Oklahoma City Saturday, then they picked up a 4-1 road win Monday over McPherson. Along with that, the UHV men swept the weekly Red River conference awards. Brody Patience, named offensive player of the week, while goalkeeper Gian Marco Cordoba earned defensive player of the week honors. I talked with two Jaguars about their great start.

Said defender Brandon Watts, "It's exactly the way we wanted to start. It's a perfect start, really. It's given the group the confidence to keep going. There's good spirit around the camp and it's a good start at 2-0."
Said Cordoba, "Feels great. Team chemistry is going up little by little, game by game. We get to know each other little by little. That's very key. We need to build up off of that and on to the next game."

UHV men's and women's soccer host the University Of Science And Arts Of Oklahoma Friday afternoon at The Cage. Ladies' game first at 1:00.
