Ganado Football Makes Regional Playoff

Indians In Third Round For First Time Since 2009

Ganado Football Makes Regional Playoff

Ganado, Texas -
A Jackson County high school football team makes a return to the third round of the playoffs.

Last year, Ganado football went 4-6 after moving up to 3A Division II and missed the playoffs. The Indians were picked in the pre-season to finish fifth and miss the playoffs. Instead, Ganado finished third in district, then won its first two playoff games to make it the regional round. I asked the Indians how much excitement they are feeling as their playoff run lasts past Thanksgiving.

Said FB/DL Colton Teague, "It's amazing. Everyone on the team has it's tempo up. The whole community is even in with everyone. It's just an amazing feeling, everyone finally getting this experience since 2009. "

Said running back Ethan Guerra, "It's very exciting. We haven't been able to do this in a while. For us to get where we are now from last year is amazing. "

Said head coach Brent Bennett, "It's extremely exciting when you step back and look at what we've been able to accomplish. But at the same time we still have work to do. We'll be excited Friday after a victory. "

For the first time in a decade, Ganado football is in round three of the playoffs.
On the day after Turkey Day, at Cuero's Gobbler Stadium, the Indians face Poth in the 3A Division II regional at 2:00.
