Special Election: Chad Hall is the final district three candidate
Victoria's special election includes a vacancy for district three's council race, which now has five candidates.
VICTORIA, Texas — On Monday, May 24, Chad Hall became the fifth and final candidate to apply for this position.
Hall is originally from Kentucky and has previously worked for the city.
The two reasons why he’s running are to help keep talented employees living in Victoria and to assure everyone is working together.
“Being a business leader myself, I wanted to jump into the campaign, so that we can do our part. The city can’t do it all by itself, we have to be involved, we have to stop waiting for people to jump in to help out. So that’s really what it was for me. My personal philosophy is that any organization is only as strong as the people that it has. That’s its only competitive advantage. It doesn’t matter what your technology is, what your trucks are, what you’re bringing to the table. Really, the power of the people is where it’s all at,” Hall said.
Hall has an extensive background in business, human resources, and social work.
In addition, he’s a family man, an athlete, and volunteers often during his spare time.
“I’d like to get as many people involved in the decision-making process as possible. That’s the way that I’ve lead here and it’s done pretty well for us. I’m not going to be the guy that shows up to city council and says I didn’t read that or I just skimmed through this, what’s in it?”
District three is located on the north side of Victoria, near Ben Jordan. It goes all the way beyond the intersection of U.S. Highway 77 and Northside road.
CORRECTION: A previous report mentioned Hall was the business owner of a steel business. This information was incorrect and incomplete. We regret this error.
