Southern Texas PGA Championship Golf In Victoria Next Week
Less than a week from now, the Southern Texas PGA championship will tee off at Victoria Country Club.
That will be the site of the 50th Southern Texas PGA championship, as it was the site for the first and the 25th championships. Between 80-100 pros are expected to play, with the registration deadline coming up Wednesday night. This is also the last chance for Southern Texas PGA pros to get tour points for fall events, like the Joe Black Cup, and the winner gets a spot in a south Texas PGA tour event, either the Houston Open or the Valero Texas Open in San Antonio. Said Victoria Country Club director of golf Breene Cantwell, “For a city and for a country club to be involved with the Southern Texas section or any section for 50 years speaks well for the community and the golf course.”
The 50th Southern Texas PGA championship starts with a pro-am Sunday at Victoria Country Club. The tournament starts there next Monday and runs three days,.
