Solar Panels installed on historic McFaddin Building

A local energy contractor has completed installation of solar panels on the historic McFaddin building in downtown Victoria.

Sweetwater Energy Services, in cooperation with the Victoria Historical Commission, completed installation on the solar panels on December 29th.

Building owners Marek, Griffin and Knaupp law firm requested the installation to modernize the building’s energy infrastructure without causing damage.

Owner Thomas Rendon says his company were able to install the panels without major modifications to the historic building.

“One of their big concerns was making sure that we could put the system together where it didn’t effect any of the aesthetics of the building. And, I assured them that that was genuinely possible. And, of course, as you can see, from the surface and down here at the ground level, even at the second story level, you don’t see any significant changes to the building.”

Rendon adds he expects the solar panels to save over three hundred and fifty thousand dollars in energy over the next twenty five years.
