Six Area H.S. Basketball Team Make State Polls

Four Victoria Teams In State Top Tens

Four local high school basketball teams are in the Texas Association Of Basketball Coaches state top tens Monday.

The St. Joe boys, ranked third in the private school 5A top ten. The Flyers finished up a perfect 8-0 district championship run with their win last Saturday over Brownsville St. Joseph. Also that day, the St. Joe girls finished district at 6-2 and playoff bound with their home win. The Lady Flyers, ranked fourth in the TABC private school 5A ratings.
The first playoff game is set for the St. Joe boys, and it will be at their dome.
The Flyers will face Fort Bend Christian in the TAPPS 5A Area round February 18th, a week from Tuesday, at 7:00.

That’s the same night Faith Academy boys basketball will host its area playoff game. The Cougars, ranked fourth in the TABC private school 2A poll after going 8-0 in district for the first time in 16 years. The Faith Academy girls, also on the way to the playoffs, ranked seventh in the TABC private school 2A ratings.
