Showers and Thunderstorms Numerous through the Weekend

Abundant tropical moisture, heat and instability are prime ingredients for significant summertime rainfall over South Texas, and all three are present here through the weekend. With the major rainfall deficit thus far this year, we will take all we can get. Most folks have tallied a third to a half inch today, with isolated spots over an inch. Much more is anticipated for your Thursday and Friday. In fact, you need a Plan B for the weekend outdoor activities. Meanwhile, the tropical Atlantic is busy, with Category 3 Hurricane Florence threatening Bermuda and, perhaps in a week or so, the U.S. Mid-Atlantic coast. A well developed disturbance south of Cabo Verde is not to be dismissed, either.
