ARLINGTON, Texas — The 2020 State Championship games that happened Thursday December 18th, were all really good games and filled with highlights. Including 2020 2-A State Defensive MVP Doug Brooks, who made it on ESPN’s top 10 plays last night with a monster stiff arm. Brooks had a blocked punt for a touchdown and a strip scoop and hand-off score for another score. Brother Dalton Brooks, who won Offensive MVP, scored twice which helped propel the Comanches to their 42-20 win over the Post Antelopes.

In the late game Thursday, the Hallettsville Brahmas faced the Jim Ned Indians for the second time this year. Hallettsville would get off to a great start but then they would burn out quickly. Hallettsville was up 21-0 with less than a minute left in the half, but then the momentum would shift as Jim Ned’s offense connects on a 30 yard pass to score making it 21-7 before the half. This game was a tail of two halves, Jonathon Brooks scored two touchdowns in the first half, but would not score again until over-time. Jim Ned would score on their overtime possession, decide to go for two and capitalize with a pass in the corner of the endzone. Jonathon would be named Offensive MVP, just like his cousins Doug and Dalton. Final score 29-28 Jim Ned in OT.
