Shiner wins back-to-back state titles ft. post game interviews

ARLINGTON, Texas — The Shiner Comanches win their second state title in two years in part to the contributions of brothers, Dalton and Doug Brooks. The two totaled 404 yards on the ground and scored five touchdowns.

The state final was a tale of two halves. The first half was evenly matched with two extra point attempts being the deciding factor of who was going to be the leader at the end of the half. Meanwhile, the second half it was all Shiner. Hawley scored 12 points in the first half and would end the game with 12. Shiner on the other hand scored 21 in the first half and 26 in the second. The reason the Comanches were struggling in the first half was because of turnovers and the Bearcat defense was strong and held their ground, but they could not hold the two-headed-monster in the Brooks brothers forever.

Doug Brooks would end up winning his final high school game on a high note with not only a state championship ring, but also with an offensive MVP to go with it. Eli Fric would win the defensive MVP to end his college career on a high note too.

Shiner wins 47-12.
