Shiner student expelled and arrested after making terroristic threat

The Shiner Police Department released the following statement Friday.

“On the morning of September 19, 2019, Shiner Police Chief Ronnie Leck and Patrol Officer Kevin Kelly were advised by Shiner Catholic School officials regarding terroristic threat.

The officers learned that a twelve-year-old student had made a verbal threat toward two other students the day before on the school campus. Acting on preliminary information school officials had already expelled this student who made the threat and the investigation was continued as soon as witness students were available this morning. The suspect student and his family do not live in Shiner.

Officers begin their investigation and conferred with the county attorney and local juvenile probation officer. The juvenile and his parents came to the Shiner Police Station where he was charged with Terroristic Threat, Class B Misdemeanor and arrested. He was later transferred to the Juvenile Detention Center in Victoria.”
