Shiner St. Paul takes home the TAPPS state championship
Sacred Heart Hallettsville, St. Joe and Faith Academy also particapated in the meet
VICTORIA,Texas–The TAPPS 2021 state champions for girls are Shiner St. Paul.
In the boys division, Shiner St. Paul would finish second as a team.
St. Paul’s Julianna Davis finished first in the thirty 200 meter run and second in the 1600 meter run.
The girls relay teams would win gold in the 4x 100 meter relay, 4×400 meter relay and the 4×200 meter relay.
The boys team finish first in 4×100 meter relay and third in the 4x 400.
Brook Cerny placed second in 800 meter run. Trent Brown took 2nd in 110 meter hurdles. the boys finished 2nd in 4×200 meter relay. Kai Giese won the gold in 400 meter dash by two seconds and finished third in long jump. Jane Twyford and Kate Ehrig would take one and two in the women’s shot put respectively. Paige brown took third in the triple jump.
The Sacred Heart Hallettsville girls track team finished second in the 4×100 meter relay, third in the 4×200 meter relay and second in the 4×400 relay.
Two St. Joseph Flyers are now home with medals from the state meet.
Nick Rodriguez took the silver in the 800 meter run with a time of one minute and :57 seconds. Emma Cruz finished third in the shot put with a throw of 32 feet and eight and a half inches.
Just outside of getting a medal was Kerigan Baumgartner who ran a personal best 48.89 seconds in the 300 meter hurdles finishing 4th.
Caleb Ybarra finished 4th in the 200 meter dash with a 23.08 second time, he also finished 5th in the 100 meter dash.
fatih academy also participated in the state meet this weekend.
The girls relay teams would finished 4th in the 4×100 meter relay and then finish eighth in the 4x 400 relay. Hannah Bazar would take 5th in the 100 meter dash, teammate Kamilah Stafford took 7th and she would place 4th in the 200 meter dash but take third in the long jump.
