Shiner and Industrial had their first scrimmage
Reinging champs, the Comanches started off slow
SHINER, Texas– The Comanches came out slow to start the scrimmage as the cobras held them scoreless early on. Shiner struggled in their first possession but would get a score by Doug Brooks in their next possession.
Comanches head coach Daniel Boedeker said they weren’t aggressive early on in the game, but that did change as the game progressed. Coach Boedeker said it’s just a matter of getting the young players who are playing their first year on varsity relaxing their nerves.
The Comanches lost 22 seniors from last year’s state championship team to graduation.
Coach Boedeker continued to say that they need to improve on tackling on defense and staying on their blocks on offense.
Shiner is ranked No. 2 in the class 2a, division 1 poll. The Comanches will play their next scrimmage in Luling on Thursday.
