UPDATE: Four suspects arrested in Jackson County following bailout

UPDATE: On Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 12:05 p.m., a vehicle was seized from the scene. Four suspects were arrested and treated at JaCo Hospital. They were then taken to Jackson County Jail. The four individuals were turned over to Border Patrol.

Two additional suspects were also arrested and taken to Citizens Medical in Victoria. They were handled by Texas Highway Patrol.

At this time, officials do not have an update from THP but assume they were processed through the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office and released to Border Patrol.

According to Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, it is safe to continue normal operations in that area. If you ever see suspicious activity, call Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

EDNA, Texas — A bailout occurred just after midnight on Thursday, Dec. 2, morning in Jackson County. It happened between Highway 59 and County Road 410, north of the Love’s Travel Shop in Edna.

According to authorities, DPS initiated a routine traffic stop. During the stop, deputies say approximately 16 subjects fled the vehicle on foot. Seven to eight subjects were apprehended, but the others remain at large on foot.

Authorities had urged residents to lock their home and vehicle doors during and around the incident.
