SeaWorld Ending Orca Shows

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio’s SeaWorld will end its orca show in a few years.

The theme park has announced an end to all of its orca breeding programs. The shows will end at its San Diego park in 2017 followed by San Antonio and then Orlando in 2019

SeaWorld says the current killer whales will remain at its parks for many years to come, quote “inspiring guests in new and natural ways.” The company says the orcas will receive the highest-quality care.

SeaWorld is also partnering with the Humane Society to work against commercial whaling and sea hunts.
