Scattered Showers and Storms for Saturday, but Heat Rages On
A plume of tropical moisture has shifted from the Upper Texas Coast into the Crossroads, bringing another round of scattered showers and thunderstorms. We will see that same feature again for Saturday, but a powerful and expanding upper level ridge will encompass much of the southwestern U.S. beginning Sunday. That will shut down opportunities for much needed rainfall. Also, it means afternoon temperatures surging into the upper 90s with heat indices approaching 110 degrees by late next week. Plan outdoor activities accordingly.
