VICTORIA, Texas – Living during a pandemic has caused many changes to the local and global economy.

The Salvation Army holds holiday themed fundraisers every year, but this year they decided to create a new one.

Rescue Christmas is a campaign that solely helps people who have been impacted financially by the pandemic.

Looking back at the past 130 years, the Salvation Army started its annual holiday fundraising campaign early, but this year the iconic red kettles are at risk because of COVID-19 and the need to social distance.

Starting in March 2020, the Salvation Army of Victoria has provided over 5,000 heals, many food boxes, and almost 5,000 nights of safe shelter.

Most importantly they have helped the community with emotional and spiritual support.

You can still donate to help those effected by the pandemic and vulnerable at this time.
