Salvation Army of Victoria prepares for food distribution event
The organization loaded up 800 Christmas food boxes for Friday's event
VICTORIA, Texas – The Salvation Army of Victoria prepares for its food distribution event. On Friday, Dec. 17, from 9 to 11 a.m., the organization’s workers will hand out food boxes, while supplies last.
Workers loaded up 800 Christmas food boxes for Friday’s event, which will take place at 304 Santa Rosa Street. You can enter Santa Rosa Street from Navarro Street only. Workers plan to barricade the side streets for the event.
According to the Salvation Army of Victoria Commanding Officer Captain Kenny Jones, the organization filled 500 boxes with canned goods from the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent and from a VISD canned food drive. They also filled up 300 boxes with seasonal vegetables.
The first 500 people will receive both boxes. Captain Kenny said they still need volunteers for the food drive.
