Salvation Army Of Victoria Needs Donations

Salvation Army Running Short Of Funds

The Salvation Army of Victoria, struggling to help people in need during this pandemic.

Salvation Army of Victoria captain Kenny Jones tells us they have just under $16,000 left in their bank account. They have received $125,000 dollars in large cash donations the last couple of months, but Captain Jones says they need more donations. He said the Salvation Army is the only charity organization in town paying rent, and they are paying rent on the thrift store building on Navarro that they closed down three months ago. Four employees from the thrift store have either resigned or are in quarantine. Captain Jones said they do plan to reopen the thrift store at their home location on North Louis street. Captain Jones adds that they feed about 20 people a night there, but they not take food to-go orders.
