SABP’s shoreline cleanup event gets successful turnout
60 volunteers helped clean
PORT O’CONNOR, Texas – On Saturday, Sept. 18, many volunteers gathered to cleanup the plastic left behind along the Texas coast. The San Antonio Bay Partnership will host a cleanup event every year to clear out all the plastic, trash, and other pollutants in the Guadalupe Estuary and Matagorda Bay.
The organization will have cleanup events all year
Allan Berger grew up in the area. As the annual event organizer, he gathers many volunteers and enough boats so it’s easier to keep the area clean.
“The event went well. We had about 60 volunteers on 17 boats and 6 kayaks. Filling the trash bin,” Berger said.
SABP promotes environment sustainability
He really cares about the environment, especially these two natural water resources. As a result he wants to make sure it stays clean for all fishes and sea animals. Especially for everyone who visits all year round.
