Rumors lead to soft lockdown at West High School

Rumors lead to a soft lockdown at West High School.

A concerned parent says their child told them West went into a soft lockdown due to unconfirmed reports of a stabbing.

VISD Communictions Director Shawna Currie says there were rumors that a fight was going to take place.

The soft lockdown was put into place so administration could speak with the students involved in the situation.

Administration determined that the rumor was in fact, just a rumor, and no fight or stabbing took place.

No weapons were involved and students were let out of school at the normal time.

Victoria County Sheriff’s Office confirms there was no incident.
