Rough waters, windy conditions to start the week
VICTORIA, Texas – A gradient caused by an area of low pressure in the high plains will remain in place through mid-week, keeping breezy to windy conditions around the crossroads for the next few days. Once that is through, we will begin to clear out with a ridge of high pressure setting up shop over Texas for the weekend.
Tonight: Expect mostly cloudy conditions. We won’t get much of a reprieve from the heat with temperatures only getting into the low 80s across the region. It will continue to be breezy, so be mindful of any outdoor decorations you have.
Tomorrow: Clouds will begin to clear out. Highs in the low 90s. Breezy conditions will prevail, and heat indices could reach 105°. Remember heat safety tips if you work outside, like staying hydrated and frequent breaks in the shade.
Extended: Another round of Saharan Dust will enter our forecast mid-week, with the thickest dust expected Wednesday and Thursday. Ridging will continue to take over throughout the week, with a small window of opportunity for some showers open on the 4th of July.
As for the Tropics, there is a small area of concern east of the Lesser Antilles that has been given a 10% chance of development in the next 5 days. We will continue to monitor the situation.
