Road paving improvements are coming to the Inez area
Precinct Four was awarded $1.3 million in recovery funding
VICTORIA, Texas – Victoria County Commissioners approved a $1.3 million Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Relief Grant for Precinct Four paving improvements.
This is recovery funding stemming from Hurricane Harvey back in 2017.
The Texas General Land Office (GLO) is the administrating agency for the grant.
Five roads in the precinct will be seeing paving improvements: Leita Road, Gin Road, Hiller Road, Minatre Road, and Midway Road.
The federal grant funding was directed to low to moderate incoming communities based on a census date from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Precinct four County Commissioner, Clint Ives, says this is a great opportunity for the precinct.
” This is a great opportunity, this is Harvey funding that was announced in 2018. This will provide more improved safety measurements for these areas and will definitely help with traffic, ” says Ives.
Ives also says that the roads will be raised in elevation and will have a new cement stabilization to prevent localized street flooding.
The paving improvement project will start around mid to late August and will be under construction for 100 days.
