Republican Congressman Michael Cloud to face Democratic challenger Maclovio Perez Jr. in November General Election
Incumbent Michael Cloud won his race for U.S. Congressional District 27 in the Primary Election with Democratic challenger Maclovio Perez Jr. winning his race.
VICTORIA, Texas – Incumbent Michael Cloud won his race for U.S. Congressional District 27 in the March 1 Primary Election with Democratic challenger Maclovio Perez Jr. winning his race. The two will now face off in the November General Election.
Congressman Cloud stopped by the Primary Watch party put on by the Victoria County Republican Women at Greeks 205 in Downtown Victoria. Congressman Cloud was greeted by a round of applause and stopped by to talk to some of his supporters.
Congressman Cloud says he’s excited to continue the work that he’s already been doing in Congressional District 27.
“The numbers are obviously still coming in but right now it’s looking pretty good so we’re certainly excited, especially after serving for a couple of years. It’s humbling to continue to have the trust of the people of South Texas and it’s an honor to serve. We’re looking forward to continuing to get to work and continue the job that we’ve been doing,” says Congressman Cloud.
When asked what his first order of duty will be Congressman Cloud said that his first task will be a flight to Washington, DC tomorrow morning at 5 am.
Congressman Cloud faces Democrat Maclovio Perez Jr. in the November General Election. Perez won his race with 61% of the vote.
