Two Refugio football standouts are being recruited by Texas schools
REFUGIO, Texas –Two Refugio football standouts have drawn considerable interest from Texas colleges.
According to Refugio head coach Jason Herring, running back Naaji Gadsden and running back and linebacker Ysidro Mascorro are both being recruited by Texas colleges for the upcoming season. Gadsden has been in talks with Texas Lutheran University, while Mascorro has been given an offer from Division I program Sam Houston State. Mascorro has also been recruited by Mary Hardin-Baylor and Texas A&M Kingsville. All three schools are interested in the senior at the linebacker position.
Gadsden also runs track at Refugio, and was a 1,000+ yard rusher for the Bobcats in their state championship winning campaign this year.
Refugio starting quarterback Austin Ochoa, also a senior, has committed to UTSA to play baseball.
