Refugio’s Kelley strikes out 14 in five hitless innings

Jared Kelley dominated Three Rivers on the road Tuesday night

THREE RIVERS, Texas — Jared Kelley’s brilliant season continued Tuesday night, as the flamethrower struck out 14 batters in a 17-0, run-rule victory at Three Rivers. The righthander held the opposition scoreless in the game, which ended after five innings of play.

A prospective first round MLB draft pick, Kelley got his first six Bulldog outs via the strikeout. He and the Bobcats will host Port Aransas in district play Friday night.

Refugio is the top-ranked team in the state in 2A baseball.
