Refugio Football Players Make All-State

Five Refugio football players make first team All-State on the Texas Sportswriters Association 2A All-State team. Not only did Kobie Herring make first team All-State, the Bobcats senior linebacker was also named state defensive player of the year. Herring had 37 tackles for losses for 15-1 Refugio, which won the Division I title. Joining Herring as first team All-State picks from Refugio, center Trey Upton, running back Jaylon Mascorro, defensive lineman Trace Mascorro, and defensive back D’Mond Lafond. Yorktown center Reagan Billings made third team All-State.
