Refugio Football Blasts Its Way Into State Semis

Bobcats Roll To Early Big Lead Over Holland

Refugio football is in the state semifinals for the second time in three years.

The Bobcats raced out to a 28-0 lead after a quarter on the way to a 49-12 2A Division I state quarterfinal win over Holland in the Alamodome. Refugio quarterback Austin Ochoa accounted for four first quarter touchdowns: two rushing, and two TD passes to Antwaan Gross. The 14-0 Bobcats now face either Groveton or San Augustine in the state semifinals. Our Sean Coffey talked with Refugio head coach Jason Herring after the game.
