Refugio baseball ranked #1 in preseason poll

Bobcats enter season as 2A favorites

Victoria, TEXAS — Refugio baseball is looking to add another state championship to their legacy, and Tuesday’s news was a good starting point.

The Bobcats are ranked number one in the Texas High School Baseball Coaches’ Association’s preseason 2A poll, one year after falling to Big Sandy in the regional finals. Refugio will once again lean heavily on All-American starting pitcher Jared Kelley, who has committed to the University of Texas and remains in the mix for the top pick in this summer’s MLB draft.

The Bobcats will begin their season on February 24th with a home game against Tidehaven.
