Rebuild Texas Fund provide grant to VC foundation for Harvey-affected students
VICTORIA, Texas — The Rebuild Texas Fund has provided a grant to the Victoria College Foundation to aid students still feeling the affects of Hurricane Harvey.
Rebuild Texas Fund donated one hundred and ninety thousand dollars to the college for their Harvey affected students. The grant was issued to provide aid to students that were forced to use their grant money to rebuild their homes, instead of on tuition, textbooks or childcare services. Program officer Christina Cornejo says she is proud to be a part of the team helping these students realize their dreams
“That’s one of the reasons why I joined the team. I joined the Rebuild Texas Fund so that I could help give back to local communities. As a native of South Texas myself, I saw how communities were devastated. And so, anything we can do to help families return, that’s our end goal, absolutely”
Students in need of the funding are asked to submit a Refund Texas application online. You can visit Victoriacollege.edu and search scholarships to get started.
