Randy Vivian was awarded a very special proclamation as he says goodbye to the Victoria community

Randy Vivian had a going away reception and several prominent community members came out to say their final goodbyes.

Ben Zeller, the Victoria County Judge said, “I hate to see good people leave but Randy has made such a positive impact here, I have no doubt he will do that in his next venture. So were here to wish him the best to say thank you and I hate to see good folks leave but I certainly understand the big opportunity he’s been presented with, and we’re here to wish him well”.

Vivian was the president of The Victoria Chamber Of Commerce for approximately 12 years. He’s recently accepted a position to work with The Texas Division Of Emergency Management. On Thursday evening Vivian was presented with several awards and a very special proclamation.

“We declare October 24 th , 2019 to be Randy Vivian Day”, said Mayor Rawley McCoy.

“The one thing I think I’m most proud of is the service that I’ve given to the community. I’ve always really felt the need to give back and this community has always been great with me. It’s given me my education, its given me business opportunities and I always wanted to give back and I hope I’ve been able to do that over these years,” said Vivian.

Friday, October 25 th is Vivian’s last day working in Victoria and the president of the Victoria Chamber Of Commerce position will soon be available.

“There will be a national search for this position and it will begin on November 1 st . I’ve told the board to take their time in doing it and pick the right person. This is a unique community, it’s a great community and the future is very bright for Victoria,” said Vivian.

Vivian mentioned that he will be traveling back and forward to the Victoria area to visit but his animated and engaging personality will truly be missed.
