Rain leads to two more cancellations for Generals
VICTORIA, Texas — The Generals just can’t catch a break weather-wise.
The team announced on Monday that their upcoming road series against the Texarkana Twins has been canceled due to poor weather, their second consecutive series lost as a result of tropical storm Barry. The Generals’ weekend series in Baton Rouge was also rained out.
According to GM Mike Yokum, the Generals got word of the cancellation just before their departure on Monday morning. The games will not be rescheduled, meaning the team will now be short at least four games due to their weather woes.
The Generals entered the week sitting two games behind Brazos Valley for first place in the TCL. In their last taste of action on Friday, they managed to mount a seven-run comeback en route to a 10-8 victory over the Bombers at Riverside.
Weather permitting, the Generals will return to action on Wednesday for a free ticket night at Riverside. That home series will begin at 7 pm Wednesday against the Twins.
