Rain is Out and Sun is In

Happy first day of summer to everyone! This morning’s rain is pretty much done as drier air is working itself into the Crossroads. The upper low which provided lots of rain the last few days is now in Deep South Texas weakening. In addition, the moisture content will be on decrease as well with the tropical wave weakening. Friday into the weekend is looking good with more sun and less of rain.

Highs throughout the Crossroads will be in the lower to middle 90s. Small rain chances pop back into the forecast starting Sunday into next week. Beginning Sunday, we will return to more of a summer time pattern with storms developing in the afternoon with daytime heating. Today is the first day of summer as the sun is currently in the Northern Hemisphere and today will be the longest day of light. Days will become shorter as we head into the winter solstice. The tropics remains very quiet as of now which is good news.
