Synopsis: Disturbances moved into the area last night and early this morning (Thursday).  As moisture levels increase the Crossroads could see over 1/2″ of rain on Thursday with rain showers continuing overnight.  A full moon could cause high tide (12:31 pm) to produce some coastal flooding today.   On Friday, a trough in the western Gulf of Mexico will inland in the Crossroads on Saturday.  Increasing moisture levels (2.3″) combined with daytime heating from the sun will bring showers on Friday (mostly to the coast and open water).  The rain will move further inland on Saturday as the trough heads west.  On Sunday the Seabreeze could create some showers from the lingering moisture (from Friday and Saturday).

For the long term, Monday through Thursday, on Monday moisture levels will still be decent (2.0″) but high pressure should start moving close to the area.  Daytime heating from the sun and the Seabreeze could still produce a few showers.  High-pressure should take over by Tuesday bringing South Texas back to dry, hot conditions.  The cooler weekend temperatures will keep heat indices between 100-105 degrees but by Monday heat indices will be on the rise again.

Tropical Update: The latest tropical wave in the eastern tropical Atlantic Ocean fizzled out and now there is not any tropical featured development expected in the next 48-hours.
