Rain chances hinge on tropical moisture

Sunday will be a break from the scattered showers and thunderstorms. The Crossroads can expect highs to be in the upper 90s, with mostly sunny skies. The week after that looks to be either a little rainy, or more rainy depending on the Tropics.

Our rain chances for next week hinge on the possible development of a tropical cyclone in the Gulf. There is an area of low pressure in the southern gulf that has been given a 30% chance of developing into a tropical cyclone over the next 5 days. If this system does develop into something, the rain chances will likely stay south of the Crossroads. If it does not, the moisture will likely drift to our area and increase our chances of rain. As this system evolves, we will keep you updated.

Otherwise, high temperatures will be in the upper 90s throughout the next week, so heat indices will be an issue. Lows will be in the mid 70s. Sky conditions will be nice, mostly sunny, but depending on this system, we may see more rain than initially forecasted.
