Rain Chances Fade, but Heat and Humidity March On

A dominant upper level ridge will shut off rain chances for the rest of the week, through the weekend, and into early next week ahead of a weak tropical wave that supports midweek rainfall and thunderstorms. This afternoon’s showers produced only spotty, meager rainfall, but much better rain chances can be expected with the tropical wave that should arrive late Tuesday and depart early Thursday. Temperatures will remain at or slightly above normal for this time of year. The Atlantic Basin remains inactive for tropical characteristics, while Tropical Storm Emilia in the Eastern Pacific will have a brief life while moving away from the Mexican coast.
