Rain Chance Dramatically Increase Wednesday through Weekend

While scattered showers dot the Crossroads this afternoon and evening, rain chances greatly improve Wednesday with the arrival of a cold front and sustained upper level dynamic support. Several days featuring mostly cloudy skies and numerous showers and thunderstorms will be supported by deep tropical moisture from the Eastern Pacific overrunning the front, which will become stationary to our south and southwest. Rain chances begin to diminish early next week as the tap of moisture begins to lessen and the frontal boundary dissolves. The tropical Atlantic has no significant threats to the Gulf coast, but Eastern Pacific Tropical Storm Rosa was named this morning and will be the impetus for extended wet weather over the U.S. Desert Southwest.
