PSA: A Message from the Victoria Police Department about crime prevention
In the past year, 469 vehicles have been burglarized, according to the Victoria Police Department.
VICTORIA, Texas – Some of the most common crimes in Victoria are simply crimes of opportunity.
Victoria Police Department Community Engagement spokesperson, John Turner, advised Victoria residents in a 30-second PSA to follow three steps to prevent being a victim of crimes.
Here are three things the police department advised to stay aware of:
- Hide your things
- Lock your car
- Take your keys
In the past year, 469 vehicles have been burglarized. Of those, 359 had been left unlocked, 138 vehicles were stolen and 96 had the car keys inside.
“Don’t create an opportunity for someone to make you a victim,” said Turner in the PSA.
