President of Victoria Economic Development Corporation on inflation in the Crossroads

"Even if there is a recession, it will we have no indication that Texas or this area of Texas will experience any of of those negative attributes that would be happening in other parts of the country," says Titus.

VICTORIA, Texas – The DOW Jones sank over 1,200 points as the inflation report was released this week. The inflation report may force some changes for consumers in the area as inflation hikes up prices for housing, cars, and groceries.

Inflation continues to recover from the hard impact of the Coronavirus Pandemic.

The Crossroads stands in a safe space against inflation although the economy looks a bit different says Jonas Titus, President of the Victoria Economic Development Corporation.

“Even if there is a recession, it will we have no indication that Texas or this area of Texas will experience any of those negative attributes that would be happening in other parts of the country,” says Titus.

Victoria works towards setting its new sales tax record this year. Consumers spent the most money this year in the city’s history.

The rest of the area continues to see strong economic activity as well.
