Potential Tropical Cyclone Seven Heading To the Gulf

An upper level low is across Southeast Texas into Southwest Louisiana providing storms to the area. Showers and storms are scattered throughout the Crossroads right now. Most of the storms should fall apart once the sun set. We will see more showers and storms on labor day. Rain chances Monday will be at 60%. Rain chances will continue for Tuesday and Wednesday. During the next few days, some storms may produce heavy rain. in the tropics, we have several areas of interest. First, the hurricane center is watching a tropical wave near Africa. Currently, it only has a 20% of development in the next five days.

Florence remains a tropical storm in the Atlantic moving northwest. Now, we have Potential Tropical Cyclone Seven heading towards the Gulf of Mexico. As of now, PTC Seven is forecast to impact Louisiana by midweek. If the tropical cyclone follows this track, the Crossroads will remain to the west and drier side. However, we still have a few days to watch and follow the storm. In the future, Potential Tropical Cyclone Seven will be named Tropical Storm Gordon. Tropical Storm Watches are up for portions of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.
