Synopsis: A trough over North Central Texas should meander over the area through Sunday and will continue to push southeast through the region Sunday night and into Monday.

The highest rain chances on Sunday will be out over the Gulf with a 20-30 percent chance even with the high levels of moisture.  This should be negated by minimal upward forcing as well as drier air in the mid-levels of the atmosphere.  The moisture in the area (from the trough and the Gulf) will allow for heat index temperatures to approach 105-110 degrees (the further west the warmer) on Sunday.  High swells and strong rip currents will be prevalent again on Sunday from return airflow from the Gulf (south).  Heat Index temperatures could be in the 115-118 degrees range by Monday afternoon (Excessive Heat Watch for parts of the Crossroads).  Storm energy will push out of the northeast on Monday night reaching (southwest Texas Monday night) the northern part of the viewing area by Tuesday morning.  There should be plenty of moisture/unstable air in place as a frontal-system (boundary) stalls over the region and keeping rain chances in the forecast for Tuesday with high temperatures cooling back down and closer to average conditions.  Drier conditions are expected for the remainder of the week as high-pressure spreads across Texas. Enough moisture will remain in place across most of South Texas Wednesday to keep slight chances of rain in the forecast.  Moisture decreases through the rest of the week with only slight chances of sun warming scattered showers over areas around the coast Thursday and Friday.  Afternoon Heat Index values will be from 105-108 degrees Tuesday through the rest of the week.
