Port Lavaca arrested for toddler death is out on bond
PORT LAVACA, Texas – Deputy Johnny Krause with the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office confirms that a request for a bond reduction hearing for Noe Rodriguez Paez, 52, was approved.
Krause said a Calhoun District Attorney granted the bond reduction. The bond was reduced from one million dollars to $500,000.
Paez was out on bond Tuesday, September 15, Krause said.
We reached out to Port Lavaca Police Colin Ragnow for more details.
Paez was arrested and charged back in August 18 after a child was struck a killed by vehicle in Port Lavaca. He was charged with intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle.
This is a second degree felony.
Krause said Paez was placed in the Calhoun County Jail under a $1,000,000 bond.
A candlelight vigil with family and friends took place to remember 3-year-old Zaylen Gonzalez.
