Port Lavaca based coffee company brewing up help for Veterans

A Port Lavaca coffee company is giving back to veterans, one coffee cup at a time

Port Lavaca, Texas – Father and son team Laval and Milam Simons, created smoking gun coffee back in February, in order to combine their love of coffee and their concern for veterans that maybe dealing with issues such as homelessness or mental health issues.

CEO Milam Simons says that helping vets while enjoying good coffee creates a very warm feeling to all that take part.

“The goal is to take 10% of all sales, go back to foundations that are near and dear to us. For example Part of the proceeds go back to an organization called Massachusetts Fallen heroes. Another one is Serenity villages, where they build homes and have things for homeless veterans to use,” said Simons.
