Police searching for “Dapper Desperado” linked to robberies in Victoria and Houston
VICTORIA, Texas — On Saturday, August 31, 2019 at approximately 12:47pm Victoria Police Department 911 Center received a call of a robbery at the Wells Fargo Bank located in the 1200 block of North Main Street.
Upon arrival, officers were informed that an unidentified suspect entered the location and brandished a weapon to a teller. The suspect obtained approximately $11,000 in U.S. Currency and exited the building through the main entrance.
The suspect has been described as a w/m (possibly a light complected Hispanic male), approximately six feet tall, shaved or short cut brown hair, and wearing a red hat (possibly Under Armor), red shirt (possibly says “Oracle”), a pair of multi-colored sunglasses, and a grey or brown in color sports coat.
Through the investigation, it was discovered an aggravated robbery had previously occurred in the Houston area on Friday, August 30th, matching the physical description and conducted the robbery in the same manner. After comparing the surveillance footage, it is believed the suspect from Houston AKA “Dapper Desperado” is the same suspect that robbed our Victoria bank.
We urge anyone in this area to check your surveillance footage specifically between 12pm-1pm on Saturday, Aug. 31st. Anyone with information can contact Detective David Reed at 361.485.3747 or if you wish to remain anonymous you can call Crime Stoppers at 361.572.4200. (Reference case number 2019009497).
