Platinum Home Investments hosting Hurricane supply drive through Monday

Social distancing measures being taken at the donation site

VICTORIA, Texas-Platinum Home Investments is hosting a Hurricane Supply Drive to help those struggling to get back on their feet following Hurricane Laura.

They are taking donations Saturday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m and Monday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 4104 Houston Highway.

“We’re hoping people will bring anything that will help. Anything that doesn’t spoil when you ship it,” said Tiffany Spoon, Sales and Marketing Liaison at Platinum Homes Investments.

Items they are requesting most:

  • Water (bottled, or jugs)
  • Paper plates and disposable utensils
  • Canned goods (beans, soups)
  • Chips
  • Fruit snacks
  • Baby items (diapers, wipes, formula)
  • Toothbrushes
  • Sanitizing and disinfecting products
  • Box fans
  • Air mattresses
  • Utility goods (batteries, work gloves, flashlights, masks)
  • Coolers
  • Charcoal and generators

Spoon instructs any donors to place donations in your trunk so that volunteers can safely remove the items while social distancing. There will be signs in the parking lot directing traffic where to go.

Volunteers are instructed to bring their own masks, but they also have some extra masks if volunteers do not have their own.

Once the all of the donations are collected “they are going to Louisiana area, Cameron or Lake Charles, since they were hit pretty bad. We have a contact with the Cajun Navy out there and their volunteers, we’re going to reach out them and meet them at the border to deliver the items,” shared Bulmaro Martinez, co-owner of Platinum Home Investments.

“Whenever the Crossroads went through the stress with Hurricane Harvey, we had help from our neighbors who went the extra mile to help those in need, and we just wanna pay it forward,” said Spoon who worked with Marketing Coordinator, Alyssa Lozano to organize this donation event.
