Pit bull attacks Victoria man and his dog
“I looked up and before I knew it this pit bull lunged at us. He jumped up and bit my chest and started holding on,” Victoria resident, Gilbert Hernandez said.
At that moment Gilbert Hernandez knew he had to fight back.
“So to get him off I started punching him. That didn’t work so I went for his eyes and I threw him off,” Hernandez said.
The pit bull viciously attacked Gilbert Hernandez on Craig Street around 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
“After about 30 to 40 minutes wrestling with that dog I was exhausted,” Hernandez said.
After attacking Hernandez the pit bull had another target in mind, Hernandez’ dog named, Boo.
“He started swinging boo around so I jumped on him and he let boo go and he went back on my chest,” Hernandez said.
Hernandez is concerned for the community but also the safety of the pit bull who attacked him.
“The only way a dog is that aggressive is that he has to be taught that. Why would someone do that to an animal? That’s all that dog was, just a weapon. Hes not a pet, hes a weapon,” Hernandez said.
